Welcome to Harriman Family Dental!
At Harriman Family Dental, we want all patients to have a great experience from their very first visit. At your first visit, we will work hard to earn your trust, take time to listen to your concerns, make clear explanations, and establish a relationship of mutual respect. We’ll also make sure you feel right at home, because it’s important that you feel comfortable. Having a dentist you like as well as respect will improve your experience and your results.
Making Paperwork Convenient
We won’t waste your time going over paperwork in the office. Instead, you will be able to fill out the forms at your convenience and in the comfort of your own home where you have access to all the information you may need. You can find the forms here, or just let us know your email address and we’ll send them to you.
Then when you send the forms, we’ll review them on our time–not yours–and fill in any vital information before you come to the office.
A Welcoming Consultation
Your first visit will be a combination of a consultation and a new patient exam. This initial visit is free. You will meet privately with our new patient coordinate one-on-one. Our new patient coordinator can provide you with information about our practice and answer any questions you may have. They will also listen to you as you describe your current feelings about your smile, your bite, and your overall health. We want to make sure that we both understand where you are and where you want to be.
As part of this consultation, we will also try to objectively determine the health of your teeth and mouth. We will take digital photographs of your smile, your teeth, and your mouth, from inside and out. We’ll also take some x-rays and perform a basic exam.
You will get a chance to review all these images with your dentist and the new patient coordinator. We’ll have the images on a large screen so we can all clearly see what’s going on. We will discuss the images, and how they relate to your sense of your oral health. We will also talk about the steps we need to take to achieve your goals. We will address your oral health as well as the appearance of your smile.
If we see signs of TMJ or sleep apnea, we may recommend that you visit our partner practice, River Edge Dental, for a further review. This is optional, as is any treatment we recommend.
At the end of the consultation, you can decide how you want to proceed. There’s no pressure, and at you can decide whether you want to do some, all, or none of the recommended treatments. You can even decide you don’t want to work with us.
